Ephemerals Adjusted

  1. Shannon- you have a remarkable eye for detail and the technical ability to render detail perfectly. The light reflecting off the water, for instance, is a beautiful moment. Your next challenge is to really see the detail in the context of the whole composition. A photograph describes three-dimensional space. How does the interplay between foreground and background inform the main focus of the picture? How can you tighten your compositions so that your viewers see what you see. For example, the water in the fountain shot is beautiful, but the surrounding industrial fountain is rather banal in comparison. This being said, you make some compelling images. The puddle against the banal street is fantastic; here the composition is geometric and intentional. I also appreciate how you layer information in the curtain shot. Your eye is keen. Now makes yourself see the whole frame, not just the stunning details.
